A Letter from Pastor John

Friends of Faith,

Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

The bishop of our synod recommended the suspension of worship services, and we are following his recommendation at Faith.

We will have online services beginning this Sunday, March 22 at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

I rather not suspend our worship services, especially when we’ve been having good attendance and a positive energy has been building each time we gather. The building committee is ready to move forward with the restrooms remodel and we have begun demo work to the parsonage as we hope to see it converted to the preschool by July 1.

I don’t want to see an interruption to all the good things we are doing together. However, I love the people of Faith Lutheran Church very much, very much (that’s an intentional double “very much”). I would feel awful if one person got sick because I did not take every precaution known to me. Although I live for your church attendance, I want you to know it is okay to stay home from church as we wait through this period.

There seems to be a lot of uncertainty about the coronavirus. As we see what happens in the coming weeks, we might have to find new ways of being together and providing care for each other. I will be looking at ways to stream our service so people can participate from home. Perhaps there is a way for small groups of you to talk and interact with one another from your home computers.

Please let me know how you and your family are getting along. Let me know how your children are doing, whether they are in school or college. Please check in with me from time to time. You can send me an occasional email, or call me (970) 454-2808. I will be praying for you and your family to rally together and for our church to meet the pastoral care needs of all people within our reach.

The Lord be with you. Grace and peace,
pastor john
